Women in STEM

Promoting gender equality in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

Women make up half of the total U.S. college-educated workforce, but only 29% of the science and engineering workforce.

For every dollar a man earns, a woman only earns 86 cents in the United States.

In 2014, for every ten scientists in Singapore, only three were females. The participation rate of women in STEM climbed from 23.6% in 2004 to 29%.

But… what is this odd-sounding name, and how does it help us?

Put simply, here’s what an EEG (Electroencephalogram) does in a sentence: It measures electrical activity in your brain by placing electrodes on the human scalp.

Here is a small breakdown so you can better understand its function:

This essay digs deep into the Naïve Bayes Classifier and Bayes’ Theorem as a technique of big data mining. It introduces an innovative way of applying these formulae to create a predictive model of quickly determining correct drug prescriptions for large-scale epidemics. It further evaluates the accuracy of the method through a mock-simulation, and provides practical computational techniques allowing its execution on a grand scale. Finally, the essay looks at room for enhancement by potentially utilising other mathematical concepts for a greater range of results, adding relevant attributes in the big data collected, and envisioning its future prospects for sustainabili...
